St. Paul, MN (AHN) - Independent candidate Dean Barkley, Sen. Norm Coleman (R-MN) and Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party candidate Al Franken engaged debated on Sunday over the government's bailout of financial firms.
During the forum at the University Center Rochester, Franken hit Coleman for voting for legislation allowing the government to use an unprecedented $700 billion to rescue the nation's financial system. Coleman defended his support for the bill, saying the government had to act to prevent disaster. The first-term senator also continued to portray Franken as an angry liberal. 'Anger for anger's sake doesn't solve anything,' he said
